Emily Beck, PhD, is the Assistant Curator of the Wangensteen Historical Library of Biology and Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include premodern manuscript recipes, reconstructing historical materialities, the history of scientific illustration, and primary source teaching and literacy.
